/ 01Overview
What thisactually involves.
IP systems are the right answer when detail matters — reading a number plate, identifying a face at a counter, or covering a wide yard with fewer cameras. We build them on managed PoE switches with a dedicated camera VLAN, so surveillance traffic never competes with your business network.
/ 02Do you need this?
Signs it's time to act
- Footage is too soft to identify a face or read a number plate
- You need to cover a wide area without adding many cameras
- Multiple buildings or branches should be viewable in one place
- You want motion or line-crossing alerts, not just recording

What moves the price
We quote after a survey rather than over the phone, because these are the things that actually change the number — and none of them are visible from a phone call.
- 01Sensor resolution — 2MP through to 4K per camera
- 02Managed PoE switch capacity and whether a camera VLAN is needed
- 03Cat6 cable runs and containment
- 04NVR storage sizing and any RAID redundancy
- 05Which analytics rules need configuring and tuning

/ 07Common questions
Not when it is built properly. We put cameras on their own VLAN behind a managed switch, so surveillance traffic never competes with your business network.
For detail and analytics, yes. But if you have sound coaxial cable in the walls, HD-over-coax can give a real upgrade for far less disruption. We tell you honestly which one your building suits.
Yes — that is the main advantage of IP. We size the switch and recorder with headroom at the design stage so expansion is a plug-in, not a rebuild.
